Three Viable Home Business Ideas

Having a business has a lot of advantages over working as a regular employee. One of its benefits is being able to work on one’s own terms. This is very beneficial for everyone especially for stay at home moms. This means that they will be able to give financial contribution to the family aside from their priceless service. These are also great for people in between jobs or those who are tired of conventional jobs when they have a lot of skills to offer and a lot of potential to maximize.

Blogging

Some people maintain diaries and journals. This is similar to blogging. It is like an online diary or journal only it contains useful information or entertaining posts for other people. It can still have a personal touch in a way that most readers would be able to relate to. In fact, a personal voice is often the key to selling online.

It will be best to choose and blog about a particular niche or category that one has a lot of knowledge of.

Once there are enough posts, the blogger can apply for a Google Adsense account wherein he or she earns money through each unique visitor click from the advertisement in the blog. The blogger will receive the payment once he or she earns $100.

There are also many other ways to make money with blogs and create a very viable home business. Affiliate marketing is one example where one earns commissions for buying traffic they send to other sites, like Walmart, eBay, Amazon, Tiger Direct and any one of the thousands of business that offer affiliate programs.

Blogging is one of the cheapest ways to get started with a home business, because all you really need is a hosting account, about ten bucks a month and a domain name as cheap as eleven dollars per year.

In fact, you can begin completely for free by using any of the popular free blog platforms, such as, Blogger and Wordpress or Groove.  With Groove you will have the added benefit of being able to do email marketing and creating landing pages and sales funnels.  At the time of writing this you can still pick up a Free Groove account FOR LIFE, no credit card needed.  Check this link if that offer is still available.  There are many free online guides on how to get started in blogging, just Google it and do some research or get the training for free at Groove.

Online Store

One can put up an online store where different products are sold. These products may be something he or she made or something that he or she gets from a supplier. Of course, this works best for creative people who can create their own products.

Some of these are writers and poets, painters, knitters, dressmakers and tailors, sculptors, cooks, and bakers. Other experts can write about their area of expertise in e-book format and sell these online.

In other cases, people can also sell things that they do not use anymore.

They can also resell things that they get from suppliers. This works great for people with great convincing powers.

People can sell or resell products through different websites such as eBay, Wordpress with ecommerce plugins like WooCommerce, eBay and Etsy.

Affiliate Marketing

People use different products daily. To some, affiliate marketing is more of a passive, effortless income which goes with their blog or website. However, it is very important that one joins affiliate programs with products and companies that they know a lot about and that they like. This will make the whole process easier and will make them more efficient in the program.

Some of the most popular affiliate programs are those of Commission Junction, Link Share, Amazon and Swagbucks.

Other websites also offer affiliate programs along with referral programs including Escalate Network, Panthera, LogicalMedia, Share a Sale, Ebay, and BigCrumbs. Pretty much any online business is offering a referral program, usually the link and information can be found at the footer of their site.

When you get started on your own journey sign up for affiliate programs of the software or email marketing services you prefer and then tell your own followers about those.  It is always easier to promote something that you know you can trust or find useful.

Through affiliate links, some companies pay for each advertisement click while some companies pay for each sale, each registration, or each newsletter sign up.

It will be best to tell people about your own experiences about a particular product or service that you have found useful.  That way you can directly tell them about the benefits instead of just pasting banners all over your blog or website. It will make you, the affiliate or blogger sound more credible and not just someone who is after a commission.
